Beckman High School Varsity Dance Team
We are looking for young men and women who can represent Beckman High School both as excellent dancers and as excellent role models for the student body. The Beckman High School Dance Team is commited to supporting all Beckman High School athletics and promote school spirit, reach out to the community through active participation, and promote good sportsmanship.
In addition, the Beckman High School philosophy dictates that the development of leadership skills, self-discipline, and positive relationships through mutual respect, trust, and teamwork is equally important as competitions, performances, and sideline support.
Coaches & Choreography
Head Coach Megan Chavarria
Head Coach Megan Chavarria has studied various dance forms including Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, and Contemporary, for over 25 years. She has assisted and trained under a multitude of amazing dance artists. Megan has choreographed and set numerous routines and solos for many years, majority of which are award winning, as well as national title winners. She is the light and lead of the Beckman High School Varsity Dance Team. She is going into her seventh year as Head Coach and truly has had a positive impact on this program. She is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all students. Megan is an asset to this program and has contributed to the success of the team through her guidance, leadership and dedication.
Assistance Coach Mali Mokhtari
Assistant Coach Mali Mokhtari is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors of Science in Child and Adolescent Studies. Mali is a BHS Dance Team Alum, with experience as a captain for two years. Mali danced competitively for more than 15 years. She has a passion for all styles of dance with extensive training in many, including: Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, and Pom. Mali is completing her fourth year as Assistant Coach. She has choreographed a national title winning Pom routine and has been awarded for her choreography. Since joining, Mali has contributed to the continued success of the team through her consistent leadership and instruction.
